A Malaysia private limited company (Sdn Bhd), may adopt Malaysian Financial Reporting Standard (MFRS) which is identical to International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS). Payroll Services Payroll System (Web-based) handles
  1. Data management of company, employee, and payroll data; 
  2. Processing of the whole payroll cycle, including monthly payroll, social insurance, and tax;
  3. Payment and reporting. The Payroll System can handle complex payroll, including bonuses, commissions, grossed-up allowances, tax-advantaged housing arrangements etc
Payroll Reporting The Payroll System includes comprehensive reports, detailing all elements of employee compensation. These are prepared in advance of the payroll date for approval by your management personnel.
Salaries and Wages Payments to Employees are transferred directly to your employees’ bank accounts. If desired, employees may predetermine percentage splits for deposit into multiple accounts. Pay slips are sent directly to the employees by OCS. These can be in Japanese or English, depending on individual preference.
Social Welfare Social Insurance & Tax Office Reporting and Payments can be managed by OCS.
Year-end Tax Adjustments (YETA) Year-end Tax Adjustments (YETA) can be managed by OCS. The YETA is a means by which Japanese companies do the personal tax return filing of employees–with some exceptions, such as high-income earners.
Time Reporting System (Web-based) Time Reporting System (Web-based) allows employees to enter their work time on a daily basis from an internet connection anywhere in the world. Because the time is maintained in OCS’s database, it is easy for management personnel to view any individual’s time, as well as extract reports for group analysis. Because the data is real time, managers may examine overtime status at any time during the month. This data is required for payroll calculations.
Employee Expense Reporting System (Web-based) Employee Expense Reporting System (Web-based) can allocate expenses to specific projects and specific locations, and where appropriate, can be exported for use on customer invoices. All employee expense activity is stored in an SQL database, which allows management to analyse data quickly and make business decisions in a timely manner. Expenses are reimbursed to employees together with payroll compensation.
Employee Housing System The Employee Housing System tracks employee apartment leases held by the company, including fees, deposits, monthly rent payments, and payments required by the employee.
Statutory Audit A statutory audit is a legally required review of the accuracy of a company’s or government’s financial statements and records. An audit is an examination of records held by an organization, business, government entity, or individual, which involves the analysis of financial records or other areas.
For Malaysian Sdn Bhd companies, the directors of a private company (other than those companies that meet the audit exemption) must appoint an auditor at least 30 days before the end of the period before first submission of its financial statement. The exemption are:

  • Dormant Company
  • Zero Revenue Company
  • Threshold-Qualified company

Company that have exempted, must lodge its unaudited financial statements (Comply with applicable approved accounting standards), the directors’ report statement, statement by directors and statutory declaration to SSM.

Interim Audit An interim audit involves preliminary audit work that is conducted prior to the fiscal year-end of a client. The interim audit tasks are conducted in order to compress the period needed to complete the final audit. Doing so benefits the client, which can issue its audited financial statements sooner.
* OCS shall introduce and propose to clients with the qualified and licensed audit service providers accordingly. Clients shall make the final selection decision. 
Annual Company Tax Return A tax return is a form or forms filed with a tax authority that reports income, expenses, and other pertinent tax information. Tax returns allow taxpayers to calculate their tax liability, schedule tax payments, or request refunds for the overpayment of taxes. In most countries, tax returns must be filed annually for an individual or business with reportable income, including wages, interest, dividends, capital gains, or other profits.
Company Tax Computation Company income subject to tax is often determined much like taxable income for individual taxpayers. Generally, the tax is imposed on net profits. In some jurisdictions, rules for taxing companies may differ significantly from rules for taxing individuals. Certain corporate acts, like reorganizations, may not be taxed. Some types of entities may be exempt from tax. Countries may tax corporations on its net profit and may also tax shareholders when the corporation pays a dividend. Where dividends are taxed, a corporation may be required to withhold tax before the dividend is distributed.

Businesses in Malaysia are required to apply for business premise licenses from the respective Local City Authorities. The requirement for the application may vary according to each local authority. Besides that, in most cases, premises are required to put a signboard and this requires a permit as well from the same local authority. Other examples of these licenses are entertainment, liquor, car park license etc.
